Guest Artist Spotlight Mike Quiroz Fine Line Symbolic Tattoo Artist Toronto

November 15 – 30 | Only 15 Sessions Available at Zen Tattoo Studio

This November, we’re excited to welcome guest artist Mike Quiroz to Zen Tattoo Studio in Oakville.

Mike is a Colombian-born tattoo artist known for his sculptural approach to black and grey realism, a style that blends structure, symbolism, and flow into something completely his own.

While Zen has built its reputation around high-end black and grey realism, Mike brings a new perspective to the craft, one that focuses on how a tattoo moves with the body and tells a story through design.

He’ll be tattooing at Zen Tattoo Studio from November 15–30, and with only 15 sessions available, this is a rare opportunity to work with an artist whose process and vision redefine realism.

About Mike Quiroz: Sculpting Emotion & Memory into Art

Mike Quiroz has been tattooing for over seven years, but his approach goes far beyond technique. He sees tattooing as a way to translate stories, memories, and emotions into something physical, something permanent.

Originally from Colombia, Mike has worked around the world, developing a style that combines fine line work, anatomical structure, and symbolic imagery. His tattoos often feature animals, spiritual symbols, and natural forms, each representing a deeper story or reflection of the person wearing it.

“I’ve worked at many studios and currently work privately,” Mike shares. “But I’ve always been looking for a studio near the city that felt like home, a place that values creativity, atmosphere, and the client experience. Zen feels like that.”

The Art Within the Process

Every tattoo Mike creates starts with a story. He listens to his clients carefully, not just to what they want visually, but to what the tattoo means to them.

Once he has that vision, Mike begins building the design in 3D sculpting software. This lets him explore light, texture, structure, emotion, and movement long before it ever reaches the stencil stage — ensuring each client receives a custom design that feels truly their own and flows naturally with their body.

When it’s time to tattoo, he transfers his digital sculpt into a stencil — a precise blueprint that helps him map how the piece fits the body. From there, he uses fine line layering, negative space, and textural shading to bring it to life.

It’s a detailed, technical process, but what makes it special is how it feels on the skin. Each tattoo looks balanced, natural, and made specifically for the person wearing it.

The Style: Sculptural Realism Reimagined

At Zen, we’re known for our black and grey realism, but Mike Quiroz brings a completely new dimension to the style.

He’s drawn to floral compositions, anatomical elements, and symbolic imagery, and his pieces often explore transformation, strength, and spiritual connection.

It’s the kind of tattooing that catches your eye — not just for the detail, but for how it fits perfectly with the person wearing it.

When Mike visited Zen, the fit was immediate.

Our shared focus on creativity, and client experience made this collaboration a natural step.
For us, bringing Mike to Zen isn’t just about featuring another artist. It’s about expanding what tattoos can be, continuing to evolve as a studio while keeping the same standard of quality, care, and experience we’re known for.

This guest spot gives our clients the chance to experience something different, a sculptural, symbolic take on black and grey realism that few artists in Canada are doing at this level.

Art That Belongs to You

Mike’s tattoos are designed to belong to you, built around your anatomy, your story, and your meaning.

Whether it’s a full-body floral design, a fine-line symbolic tattoo, or a microrealism piece, every design is crafted to flow naturally with your body.

The result is a tattoo that doesn’t just sit on the skin, it becomes part of it.
